Robert Plowman is a playwright and collaborative theatre artist.
Most recently: his collaboration with Secret Theatre, the audio installation / performance folkloremobile, debuted at the Nocturne: Art at Night festival in Halifax; and his 10-minute play The Yellow Guitar was presented as part of Experiment America 2012, a large-scale immersive theatrical event and dance party at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston.
His play Radium City was published in Volume 9 of the New Canadian Drama anthology series. As well, his critical writing on collective creation has been featured in Theatre Research in Canada and Critical Perspectives on Canadian Theatre.
Robert’s upcoming work includes: The Matador, a love triangle played out in the bullfighting arena, which the Playwright’s Lab and Mill Mountain Theatre will present in Roanoke VA, in February 2013; and The Mnemonist, a Canadian Cold War spy story, which LoHiFi Productions will premiere in Halifax NS, 2014.
Robert is a fellow of the MacDowell Colony and of the Playwrights Theatre Centre Colony. He is currently an MFA playwriting candidate at Hollins University.
