Robert Plowman is a playwright and collaborative theatre artist.
Most recently: The Matador was produced in Roanoke and Los Angeles; his collaboration with Secret Theatre, the audio installation / performance folkloremobile, debuted at the Nocturne: Art at Night festival in Halifax; and his 10-minute play The Yellow Guitar was presented as part of Experiment America 2012, a large-scale immersive theatrical event and dance party at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston.
Robert’s play Radium City was published in Volume 9 of the New Canadian Drama anthology series. As well, his critical writing has been featured in Theatre Research in Canada and Critical Perspectives on Canadian Theatre.
Upcoming: The Missing Link will have a staged reading at the Southeastern Theatre Conference Convention in Mobile, in March; and The Mnemonist, a Canadian Cold War spy story, will be produced by LoHiFi Productions in Halifax, 2014.
Robert is a fellow of the MacDowell Colony and of the Playwrights Theatre Centre Colony, and the winner of the 2014 Getchell New Play Award. He is currently an MFA playwriting candidate at Hollins University.
